Paph Nathaniel's Passion
Hybrid (armeniacum x Enzan Land)

Another hybrid that was registered today 26th March by myself, this marked my 3rd registered hybrid.

This took a good 4 years to grow before it finally decided to bloom! Nevertheless, the offsprings of these 2 paphs has managed to produce beautiful golden yellow flower, simply superb.

Honestly, I have very little success in growing armeniacum in Singapore, I killed most of them actually, too hot! too hot!

On the other hand, Enzan Land (complex Hybrid) can adapt to Singapore's weather very well, and had flowered previously as well.

I have recently crossed Enzan Land with another paph, I hope it's going to be successful, if yes, I will have a new paph under my name in a few years time!! Yeah!

Paph Nathaniel's Sling

Paph Nathaniel's Sling
Hybrid (violancens x appletonianum var hainanense)

This is a hybrid that first crossed in Mar 2004. However, there was no sign of budding for the last few years, until the beginning of 2010.

Interestingly, this hybrid was not registered with RHS.

And now, I have my first Paphiopedilum hybrid registered with RHS as at today's 25th March 2010, and it's now known as Paph Nathaniel's Sling!!

Yes, I like the flower very much!! Hope you like it too!!

Paph Nathaniel's Wink

Paph Nathaniel's Wink
Hybrid (hangianum x Lady Isabel)

This is my second paph that I have registered today 25th March 2010. Not one of the most beautiful paph for sure, to me, i like the dorsal as well as the petals and of coz the color too.

Was hoping that this hybrid will have bigger and fatter petals, but it turn out to be longer that expected.

Don't you think it looks like winking at you?

Paph godefroyae 'alba'

Purchased 2 of this flask about 2 plus year back. And they finally bloomed recently. Easy paph to grow, and would bloom easily as well!

Paph Greyi

Paph Greyi
Hybrid (godefroyae x niveum)

Another easy paph to grow! This one bloomed Feb 2010 and it's still going strong! 1st time bloomer!

Paph Sugar Suite

Paph Sugar Suite
Hybrid (emersonii x niveum)

I would call this a fragile plant/flower. Coz the petals are rather soft!! The petals would flip backward if the wind is blowing at it. But is has nice round pouch.

Quite an easy plant to grow for sure, however, it is a pity that the flower does not last long!

Paph Chou-Yi Yuki

Paph Chou-Yi Yuki
Hybrid (hangianum x niveum)

There were 4 of them bloom in the month of Feb. I must say that they are rather easy to grow, and has big flower too, about 5inches across. But if you think you will smell some nice fragrant because of hangianum, then you are wrong. This hybrid does not have any fragrant!!

Paph Enzan Land

Paph Enzan Land
Hybrid (Bucolic Day x Lovely Land)

I must admit that this is not an easy plant to start with.

And this "the only one" finally flowered in Feb 2010, the budding process took up to 4 months. It was a big flower, 5inches across.

It has a nice cup shape, green in color with white fringe on the dorsal.

Brought it to OSSEA during the monthly orchid display on 7th March, it won Best Hybrid for Paphiopedilum category.

Paph Enzan Land
Taken on 1st Mar
And on the 10th March, I decided to cut the flower and put in the glass with water, not that I want to put the flower in the hall, but i felt the plant is rather weak and I really do not want to stress the plant too much, hence, I cut it off.

Today, 22nd Mar, almost a 2 weeks later, the flower is still doing well and still going strong. I am not sure how long it's going to last. However, for a good 2 weeks, I believe it has done marvelously well.

Paph Enzan Land
Taken on 18th Mar

And now all my want from Enzan Land is to get well and get strong soon. Let's wait for the next generation for now!

Paph concolor

Had been a busy new year for me, and had almost neglected in updating the blog. There have been some bloomed since the beginning of the year till now.

Paph concolor - there are 5 pots currently in bloomed, and 4 pots of them are budding now, they should bloom very soon.

However, I don't have many photo taken for some of them yet.. busy busy!!
