Just got back from an overseas trip, not many of my paphs are in bloomed now.. Only managed to take a pix of this, will update more when I have more time to do it..

Recent Bloomed..

Finally back from overseas! The first thing I did was.. went to my little garden to look at my paphs, watered them and managed to take some pixs. (and am going away again this coming weekend! gosh, am going to miss my paphs)

paph Bruno - this was a division from the prize winning pot which carried 6 flowers at the beginning of the year, decided that to divide them into 5 small division. This is the first one to bloom, and another one is coming.

paph Susan Booth - First time bloomer, very well established plant with 5 matured growths in a single pot. Hope to see more spectacular bloom in the coming year.

Paph malipoense - first one to bloom, not perfect shape for first timer, hope to see better one next year. Take care of the plant is more inportant.. you know what I mean!

 Paph Chou-Yi Yuki - Needless to introduce this flower, primary hybrid with light fragrant. Few are still in bud now, got to wait a while more..

Final decision!! WOC... I am sending in!!

It was around 1830hr today (10th Nov 2011), when I was at my little garden watering all my paphs, a call came in "We are waiting for you to send in your plants, are you coming down soon?"


Err... I had not even arranged anything for WOC as I wasn't sure if I really want to send for display or judging.


My reply was "err.. at the garden now, preparing, preparing... coming coming.." after putting down the phone, in less than 30min, I picked up 7 paphs, put them in the basket and left to the event hall at Marina Bay Sand.


For the every first time, yes! Am participating in such a big (scale) orchids show! I don't really care about the outcome whether any of my paphs will be judged or even winning any ribbons, I only hope more hobbyists in SG will learn that it's not difficult to grow slipper orchids. (as long choosing the right ones)


I hope I can take this opportunity to share with others that if I can grow them, so can you..


I will be visiting WOC this sunday morning, and yes, I hope to see you there...

After growing this for the last few years, finally the spike appeared about a month ago, and patiently I waited. This is what I saw this morning, OH! I still have to wait for another few more days!

Understood that it does not usually have many flowers, so, 2 is good for the first bloom!

This flower is almost 25% bigger compare to the first one that bloomed 2 weeks plus ago, I am impressed with the size! Currently, there are almost 30 plus of them with buds. Certainly going to be very spectacular when the rest of them bloom!
