disappointing stonei

Paph stonei
Kinda disappointing to see this. Well, firstly, bloomed at wrong season, it's hot and dry now. secondly, the seed pods are under developed. thirdly, only 2 flowers. forth, not the first bloomed!!! Argh!!! The first bloomed was with 4 flowers and they were so much better than this time! Have to wait for another year lo...

Season of Paphiopedilum (Subgenus)

Was watering my slipper orchid earlier on, and this is what I discovered. Quite a number of vejvarutianum bloomed last year during Sept to Nov. This time round, they came a little late, but am happy to see approximately 5 pots with spikes. Attached below 2 photos taken today.

Besides vejvarutianum, there were another 2 pots that caught my attention. Don't want to name it right now, but will share more when they bloom successfully. I have not been very successful when come to this, they spiked last year but all 4 blasted. I have now 1 pot with 3 spikes coming out and another pot with 2 spikes coming out.

can you see any spikes?
Here you are!

Another 2 disappointment.. Sigh!

This is really not the right season for multifloral, I was excited when seeing them spiking, but the hot and dry weather had deterred their growing, with only 2 buds!! Anyway, I will wait for next year! Hopefully to be able to see better bloom..

New way of potting..

Tried a new way of potting recently about 1 to 2 months back. And am happy with the outcome.

Can you see the new root? 2 months after repotting, with only NZ barks and lecas.
